My video for "Forever Autumn" from Jeff Wayne's 1978 album "The War of the Worlds." This song was an international hit for Justin Hayward.

Justin Hayward performs "Forever Autumn" with Mike Batt and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. This version is from Justin's "Classic Blue" album.

Tregardock: From the "Poetry in Motion" album. Justin sings this rarity. Video is taken from three other vintage Moodies videos/appearances and scrambled. This is my first time using Windows XP movie maker to create a video from other live action clips (and Day 2 of learning the movie maker program). Since the song was never performed live (to my knowledge), there wasn't any way to sync up vocals. I worked on atmosphere and mood for the first part, and then attempted to make a visual rhythm that matched the tone of the song for the second half. It's just another step along the way... If you like the lyrics, check out more by Sir John Betjeman (the entire Poetry in Motion album is based on his work) on the net.

My video for "Troubadour" by Justin Hayward, from the 1996 album "The View From The Hill." This is a musical retrospective. It's not easy to squeeze a 40-year career into a 6-minute song!

October 21st will mark the 140th Anniversary of the 1868 Hayward Earthquake. Geologists say that's important because major earthquakes happen on the Hayward fault every 140 years on average. With much of the East Bay on or near the fault, geologists and community members are working to prepare for what may be the next big one.

My video for "Broken Dream" by Justin Hayward, from the 1996 album "The View From The Hill."

Beautiful autumn scenes. Music from Justin Hayward. A gentle rain falls softly on my weary eyes As if to hide a lonely tear My life will be forever autumn 'Cause you're not here...

The album is "The Eye of Wendor" by Mandalaband, and Justin was a guest vocalist for one song. The album was reissued on CD and you can still find it online. Video Experiment Day 11: This was a challenging song to create a video for because of the tempo changes and sound blending. Listen to it at high volume to hear all of the sound effects at the beginning. I wanted to recreate the dreamlike quality of the song visually. In the beginning you don't know exactly what you're about to hear, so I tried to mimic that by not letting the viewer know exactly what they were going to see. I chose erratic edits and experimented with blending in an attempt to follow the mood and tempo of the song. Sometimes I followed rhythm, sometimes I followed lyrics. I wanted to create motion and challenge the viewer to pay attention rather than drift. All of the photos are of geysers from Yellowstone National Park's official website (public domain).
