Actor-director Ben Affleck and Sir Mick Jagger have launched a short film for UNHCRs new Gimme Shelter campaign to help raise funds and awareness about the crisis in eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and the work of the UN refugee agency. In November, Affleck visited Africa to shoot footage in DRCs strife-torn North Kivu province, where tens of thousands have fled their homes since fighting resumed in August. He also visited Uganda, where some 30,000 people have sought refuge and are receiving help from UNHCR. The result is a short film entitled Gimme Shelter, set to the classic Rolling Stones song of the same name, which Jagger and the group donated to the campaign. UNHCR hopes the Gimme Shelter campaign will help raise US$23 million in 2009 to pay for clean water supplies and emergency humanitarian assistance kits in the region. The film - Gimme Shelter - was directed by Affleck and filmed by John Toll, both Academy Award winners. The footage was shot in the strife-torn North Kivu region of the DRC in November, where thousands have fled their homes since fighting resumed in August. - For more information about the Gimme Shelter campaign go to http://www.unhcr.org - Please film your message of support by replying to this video

Dream.4 [Just Like Chip & Dale] Kurume Tsunehiko and his wife Mikako were recently rewarded with a free stay at Tokyo DisneySea's Hotel Miracosta by the office Tsunehiko works for. But the trip is anything but a dream vacation for the couple. As they attempt to enjoy their day at DisneySea, Tsunehiko confesses to Mikako that for the first time in their short marriage he's been lying to her! --------------------------------------- CULTURAL NOTE -The award Tsunehiko is given IS NOT Employee of the Month. He is really given the Perfect Attendence Award by his office. Like the name suggests, this award is given to the employee who has been at work as scheduled without calling out any sick days. In the West, most commonly in America, this kind of award is only given out in grade school. That being said, it is implied that the "reward" is actually a mandatory vacation. -"-san" is used as a sign of respect towards the person you are adressing or talking about. -Bowing is seen differently depending on the situation. If it is during a greeting, it is a sign of respect. If it is during an apology, it is a sign of humility.

Schwarzkopf seeking the best from a mezzo soprano. Christine Cairns survives the experience with a smile on her face, in her voice, and it's as fresh at the end as at the begining.

The Trip (1967) is a low-budget cult film released by American International Pictures, directed by Roger Corman, and shot on location in and around Los Angeles, including on top of Kirkwood in Laurel Canyon, Hollywood Hills, and near Big Sur, California in 1966. Peter Fonda stars as a young television commercial director, Paul Groves. Jack Nicholson (Yes THE Jack Nicholson) wrote the original screenplay. Corman encouraged Nicholson's experimental writing style and gives between 80 and 90 percent credit to Nicholson for the shooting script in the director's commentary appearing on the DVD of this film. Corman slightly modified the story to stay within budget In this plot-free drama, Groves takes his first dose of LSD while experiencing the heartbreak and ambivalence of divorce from his beautiful but adulterous wife, played by Susan Strasberg. He starts his trip with a "guide," John (Bruce Dern), The Trip also features Dennis Hopper as Groves' dealer Max, who appears here with Fonda in a precursor role to Easy Rider (1969). Contrary to their characters in Easy Rider, though — and for obvious reasons — Fonda's Paul Groves acts paranoid and anxious in The Trip, while Hopper's Max appears calm and collected.
