MORE THAN 400 CITY BLOCKS ARE STILL UNDERWATER AFTER THE CEDAR RIVER CRESTED FRIDAY AT 32 FEET, 12 FEET HIGHER THAN THE PREVIOUS RECORD..PRELIMINARY DAMAGES ARE SET AT 737 MILLION DOLLARS FOR CEDAR RAPIDS ALONE, AND HUNDREDS OF OTHER COMMUNITIES HAVE BEEN FLOODED ACROSS THE STATE..IN DOWNTOWN CEDAR RAPIDS MASSIVE HIGH RISE BUILDINGS ARE STILL BURIED UNDERWATER, THEIR BASEMENTS AND FIRST FLOORS DESTROYED.. The Gemini roller coaster at Cedar Point gives riders an opportunity for bragging rights to the fastest train, as not one, but two trains run simultaneously on parallel tracks and race for a first-place finish. Guests cheer on either the red or blue train down the mammoth first hill, around wide bends and down the famous "low beam" hill that you must experience to believe. Even those who have ridden Gemini 100 times in one day say that no two rides are ever the same. Gemini has given more rides than any other operating roller coaster at Cedar Point. Since 1978, the twin tracks have taken more than 80 million guests on the ride of their lifetime. In 2005, Gemini gave 1,717,112 rides. Guests must be at least 48 inches tall to experience the thrills of the Gemini.
